Division of Molecular Pharmacology contributes to the development of a new molecular-targeted drug
The clinical trial of a new molecular-targeted drug ZSTK474, developed by Division of Molecular Pharmacology (Chief, Takao Yamori, Ph.D.) and Zenyaku Kogyo Co. Ltd., has been started. This drug inhibits PI3-kinase, which is a key enzyme for cancer growth. Preclinical studies have already demonstrated that ZSTK474 has strong anticancer activity and low toxicity. Moreover, ZSTK474 shows enhanced efficacy when combined with radiation therapy. More
