| It was in 1908 (41 in the Meiji Era), when the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research was founded with a high ideal ethos “Aiming to Improve the Well-being of People Everywhere by Achieving Better Cancer Control”. |
| After 26 years preparation period, in 1934 (9 in the Showa Era), the Cancer Institute and the Cancer Institute Hospital were established as Japan’s first only specialized cancer hospital. |
Thank you for your warm supports toward our foundation.
Because of your cordial supports, the research institute and the hospital have tremendously developed later and numerous achievements were made. Although cancer treatments have improved in their many aspects, “aging of society” enjoyed benefit of the progress of medical treatments and medicines results in increasing the number of cancer patients. |
| Besides, the changes of life style and environment have affected the looks of cancer one after another. We are required much more commitments to find solutions for controlling cancers. |
| In order to pursue the challenges for cancer control, we moved to Ariake in 2005 and succeeded in renewing of the hospital with the most advanced facilities and equipments.
In the Cancer Institute Hospital, we share the treatment policy, which is the multi-disciplinary approach of cancer treatments based on individual organ with specific diagnosis, and strive for the comprehensive medical treatments gathering all methods, with the motto ‘Pioneering Reaction for Cancer Treatment, Holistic Medicine for Cancer Care’.
