EGD (with sedatives) |
EGD is a procedure which enables direct observation of esophagus,
stocmach and duodenum. Before the examination, sedatives are given intravenously,
then endscope is inserted from mouth to stomach. Endoscope is a long, flexible
tube with diameter of about little finger. It enables doctors to observe the conditon
of cavity of esophagus, stomach, duodenum and to detect-early cancers, with clear
image helped by lighting from the tip. Depending the case. biopsies are taken
as samples for futher check by pathologist. |

Total Colonoscopy |
The colon cancer is showing notable increase in Japan. Death rates of the colon cancer positions 3rd following lung cancer and stomack cancer in men and 2nd in women. The colon cancer may develop at any parts of the large intestine. The number of signoid colon cancer is recently increasing in Japan. Combined to the number of rectum cancer, 72% of the colon cancer are developped in sigmoid colon and rectum. The colon cancer can be treated completely by early detection.
At Cancer Screening Center, we are making our best efforts to accomplish early detection of the coloncancer by the combination of conventional fecal occult blood test and rectum, sigmoid colon examination using sigmoid scope. (This examination is a endoscopic examination in the range of 20 to 30cm from anus, without pretreatment like cathartics. |
Lung Cancer Examination |
Helical CT scan can detect millimeter size lung cancer of early stage while convensional chest X-ray can detect the one over 2cm. A smoker may develop cancer on the mucosa of bronchus. Though this cancer cannot be detected by chest X-ray or CT scanning at its early stage, can be detected by the cells collected from phlegm (early stage lung cancer at hilum of lung). If detected at early stage, lung cancer can be treated successfully. At Cancer Screening Center, we carry cancer examination using helical CT scan and phlegm cytometry as the main methods. |
Pancreas Cancer Examination |
| Pancreas cancer is one of the most difficult cancer to detect and treat. We provide the first pancreas cancer screeninng method, using state-of-the-art CT scanner, in Japan. Our aim is to detect this pancreas cancer at its early stage andto protect life from this disease. The examination is performed by using the most advanced CT scanner (called MCDT). The images of pancreas are scanned, with contrast agent by IV injection, required time is around 10minutes. However, those who have allergy to iodine, previous illness of asthema, currently under treatment of pacreas diseases are not applicable to this exam. Consultation by doctor, blood test and agreement prior to the exam are necessary. |
