Epigenetic Carcinogenesis
Overview
DNA methylation is a crucial factor in epigenetic silencing of vital genes in the development of cancer. We are currently studying epigenetic alterations of genes based on a method screening CpG island methylation in cancer genome. We also analyze functions of the genes in association with cellular growth and transformation. These analyses and further studies in the regulation of chromatin function provide new insights in cancer biology from the aspect of epigenetics.
Projects
(1) Identification and Isolation of methylation-silenced genes in cancer.
(2) Functional analysis of inactivated genes in cancer.
(3) The chromatin structure and function
