In each department, radiologists, radiological technologists, nurses, and other staffs cooperate with each other to provide the best patient care with state-of–art technology, and are committed to patient safety.

Diagnostic Imaging

The Department of Diagnostic Imaging utilize diagnostic facilities such as CT and MRI to perform diagnostic imaging, including detection and interpretation of the disease process, cancer staging, and interventional radiology.
We use the following equipment.

Radiography

Conventional Radiography
Mammography
Selenia Dimensions with tomosynthesis function ｘ2 (Hitachi Medico)

Computed Tomography (CT)

Discovery CT750 HD (GE Healthcare) ｘ2
Aquilion PRIME 80 (Toshiba Medical Systems)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Discovery MR750 3.0T (GE Healthcare)
Vantage Titan 3T (Toshiba Medical Systems)
Excelert 1.5T (Toshiba Medical Systems)

Interventional Radiology (IR)

IR is a medical sub-speciality of radiology utilizing image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases. The concept of IR is to diagnose and treat patients using minimally-invasive techniques with less risk, less pain, and less recovery time. In recent years, this procedure has been widely used in cancer care.

Nuclear Medicine

The Department of Nuclear Medicine provides diagnostic imaging based on pathophysiology and treatment for cancer using radionuclides. We mainly perform the following examinations. Of course, we are performing other nuclear examinations and therapies.

Bone Scintigraphy

Bone scintigraphy is a diagnostic imaging procedure that visualizes the state of bone metabolism. Bone scintigraphy is suitable for screening the lesions. Scintigram (photograph of gamma-ray) is taken using radiopharmaceuticals that are preferentially taken into sites where the bone metabolism is accelerated.

Detection of Sentinel Lymph Nodes in Breast Cancer

The detection of sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) in breast cancer is a test that examines the flow of lymphatics, visualizing the first node where the cancer cells may reach to. By using this method together with surgery, axillary node dissection can be omitted in patients without axillary node metastasis.

FDG-PET (PET/CT)

PET (positron emitted tomography) is an innovative method in which positron is used for medical diagnosis. FDG (an analog of glucose) is mainly used in PET studies, since the cancer cells take in 3 to 8 times as much glucose as normal cells. PET can examine the whole body all at once, and does not produce pain or discomfort except at the time of drug injection.

Features of the Center

Our mission is “to provide the best diagnostic imaging for cancer treatment.” All staffs in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and the Department of Nuclear Medicine have sufficient knowledge of diagnostic imaging, have enough experience in their own fields, and provide daily medical care while making a continuous effort to acquire advanced knowledge.

About Us｜Features of the Center｜Doctors and Staff About Us The Diagnostic Imaging Center provides various onco […]
