Project of the Pharmacogenomics

Overview

The goal of this project is to study drug responsiveness (efficacy and toxicity) by using genome technologies and to develop effective cancer chemotherapy. The targets of our study are investigational new drugs, mainly in phase II and III clinical studies. We are aiming to establish comprehensive and reliable databases of SNPs and gene expression (cDNA microarray) by conducting each gene analysis at one center for SNP and cDNA microarray, respectively. We are further aiming to identify informative SNPs and genes for prediction of drug toxicity and sensitivity and to apply the research results in clinical settings by constructing an applied, such as small-scaled cDNA array. We are now carrying out collaborative research with multiple clinical centers to collect clinical samples quickly and efficiently and to accelerate clinical applications..
