Research Projects

Development of prediction systems of adverse effects
To establish a personalized medicine, we have been developing statistical and bioinformatics methodologies for searching genes related with adverse effects based on SNP data from genome wide association study. Furthermore, we have been developing prediction system based on the selected genes. To construct a higher power prediction system, we developed a methodology for identifying haplotype blocks and also we took into account of information of ancestor haplotypes in the prediction system.

Development of prediction systems of treatment effects
To realize a personalized diagnosis, we have been constructing  a prediction system of treatment effects of anticancer drug on cancer patients based on comprehensive gene expression profile data from microarrays. Similarly, we have been developing bioinformatics method to find genes which regulate malignancy or subtype of cancer, and to  elucidate mechanism of biological treatment responses to cancers.

Development of methodology for analyzing data of Imaging Mass Spectrometry
Imaging Mass Spectrometry is a new technology for the analysis of compounds, biomarker, or protein expression  to visualize their  spatial distribution in tissues. We have been developing new algorisms and fast software for analyzing these data.
