演題:Consequences of aneuploidy in human cells – modeling monosomy and trisomy

抄録:Human cells are mostly diploid and maintaining the diploid chromosomal content during cell divisions is essential for survival. Errors in chromosome segregation that lead to a gain or a loss of chromosomes, or aneuploidy, are not well tolerated in humans. At the same time, aneuploidy is frequent in cancer, where it associates with drug resistance, increased aggressivity and poor prognosis for the patients. To determine the consequences of aneuploidy, we created a series of isogenic trisomic and monosomic cell lines and analyzed their phenotypes. Our studies show that gain or loss of a chromosome strongly affects cellular physiology, but the response to trisomy and monosomy is strikingly different.
