演題：Building the Human Cell Atlas towards Medical Innovations

抄録：The recent advent of high-throughput single-cell genomics has catalyzed scientific communities to join forces to map the human body at the single cell resolution. This Human Cell Atlas Project is an international collaborative effort with the aim of defining all cell types in terms of their distinctive patterns of gene expression, decoding their physiological states, and characterizing their developmental trajectories as a foundation for biological research and medical application. At RIKEN IMS, we are deploying a 5’-based single-cell genomics strategy to uncover gene regulatory mechanisms and biomarkers of both coding and non-coding RNAs. Particularly, 5’-approach captures enhancer RNAs guiding us to pinpoint disease-associated regulatory elements. In this presentation, I will highlight few applications of 5’-based strategy using clinically relevant samples and introduce our efforts to build the Human Cell Atlas with both the domestic and international research communities.
